5-21 rob web white city gangWHITE CITY, Ore. — A spike in gang activity in White City led law enforcement to serve four search warrants this morning.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement have been working together for a couple of weeks, investigating recent gang activity which includes two drive by shootings and a fight involving a teenager with a loaded handgun.

Wednesday morning, swat units from the sheriff’s office and Medford Police served four search warrants in White City– two on Antelope Road, one on Falcon Dr. and one on Isabella way. These search warrants were served after last night’s fight, which resulted in three people being arrested at the time, and a fourth person arrested this morning. Police believe at least two of them are among four people wanted in a drive by shooting earlier this month.

“Everybody was taken into custody without incident but it took quite an effort with the amount of residences and based on that threat level that we discussed,” said Medford Police Dept. Chief Brett Johnson.

Investigators seized several items related to the drive by shooting in the suspects’ homes, however no drugs or guns were seized.  All four suspects are associated with the Surenos gang.

Sheriff’s officials said investigators are working with the district attorney’s office to determine specific charges related to the drive by shooting.
